Jakarta-Beijing-Singapore-Jakarta

Have not posted for a while. My bad. Life has been too crazy and hectic to find time to blog. Can't complain though...better than being boring all week a.k.a. Manila Albert.

Just came from Beijing to watch the Olympics (more pics and stories later). More importantly, got to visit Lynette and Jan in Singapore and shop/ransack Ikea! Had such a fun, fun time with them even despite the short span of time. Enjoyed joking around and swapping OFW stories with real and wonderful people who can relate in their own way with what I'm going through (as they just recently relocated to Singapore). Miss them already!

I'm going through a really scary situation right now. Scary because it's seriously beautiful yet inevitably devastating. Quite certain it will end tragically. Everyone here has been trying to knock some sense into me. Yet I persist. Yes, it's stupid and illogical and nothing less than masochistic. But still, I go deeper and deeper until I can no longer remember where I began.

Gad, Jakarta has turned me melodramatic!

Juni wanted to vicariously taste their foie gras through me; unfortunately, I couldn't resist ordering the foie gras burger given my ongoing obsession with finding the best burger in the world.

I thought it would be a burger with a nice pan-seared foie gras on top. So when it came out, I was wondering if they gave me the wrong order...


=Where's the damn foie gras?! I'm guessing it's embedded into the burger because the familiar yellow foie gras oil would ooze out everytime I cut through the beef. It was juicy and all, but I honestly couldn't taste the liver. Sorry Juni, my bad :(

This made up for it though...

Their cobb salad looks like a mess...but if you look closely enough, you'll see the following happy ingredients:

Bacon
Crayfish
Avocado
Blue Cheese

Super yummy. So yummy that I took the leftover salad back to the hotel and I'm happily eating it now!

Tears for Fears

Flying off to Singapore this afternoon to attend a 3 day OTC Summit. I'm freakin' nervous about it because: 1) I hate socializing with near strangers, especially foreigners (I dread cocktails and breaks more than actual meetings) and 2) My knowledge on OTC can't even compare to a kid's. Promise, will crash read tonight. In any case, I hope all the Johnson's meetings have helped make me less antisocial.

My key objectives for the meeting:
1. Meet my new Marketing Director and be his bff
2. Meet my subordinate and make him love me
3. Meet the Gods of OTC and make them remember me
4. Oh, and learn some OTC :)

After which, I stay in Sing for the May 1 holiday before flying off to Jakarta for house hunting and another 2 day strat plan meeting. Will use the free time to go around the city and meet up with friends, or rather, potential friends.

Shit, it's really happening na!
